Thank you for checking out my website.  My name is Stacy Thompson, owner and founder of Beautiful Beginnings Doula Services.  I was born and raised in Michigan, never leaving the Detroit area besides moving to the other side of the state for college.  I love living in Michigan and raising my children here.  I am blessed with a wonderful family.  I have two children of my own, and two step children.  I am very lucky that we all respect and love each other.  I am married to a wonderful man, who supports my life as a birth doula.  He is very supportive and encourages me to be my authentic self.  I have found my purpose in this world, and I could not have done it without him and our children cheering me on every step of the way!  
I realized my place in the birthing world when I witnessed the birth of my niece, Avery.  I was the support person for my sister-in-law.  Yes, her husband and mother were there, but I found myself counting, holding her leg back, and encouraging her through the pushing phase.  As I played this role, I had an "ah ha" moment.  "Yes, this is what I am suppose to be doing", I thought to myself.  Though I did not know exactly what that meant, I had to find out.  When I researched what birth support was, I had found what I was meant to be... a doula.  Since then I have followed this path and there is nothing I want more than to help women  have amazing birth experiences.
